In a “move fast and break things” era, Mason Myers has taken a decidedly different approach with Greybull Stewardship, a private investment firm now headquartered in Jackson. The company’s name is a nod to Myers’ Wyoming ties.
When he started the firm in 2010, he decided to name it after Greybull, Wyoming, where he was born. The name also has a nice ring because a bull market indicates sustained economic growth and optimism among consumers and investors.
“I wanted to come across as more Main Street than Wall Street,” Myers said. The ethos of the firm rests on optimism about the strength and room for growth of smaller companies often overlooked by venture capitalists.
